Clap,Clap,Clap

Ava just learned how to clap! She hits her hands together alot but she actually can open her hands now. She knows exactly what "clap" means too! It's so cute! She can also kinda wave, she hasn't done it for the camera yet but I'm sure she will soon! She has a messy face because she was eating her cereal this morning!

Body Building Expo

My brother Russ and his wife Camille came down to Vegas for a body building expo at the Las Vegas convention center. It was so great to have family down here! (Thanks for coming to visit us!) They even stayed at our house one night! They got here on Friday morning and since Eric was in school I went to the expo with them. It was actually kinda fun. I think Ava had a good time too, she loves people and everyone thought she was so cute. She loves when people talk to her! Later that night we went out to dinner with them and Camille's sister McKell and her husband Brandon. They live over in Henderson! It was fun but we didn't actually eat til like 9:30! That's way past me and Ava's bedtime!

Saturday morning we all went to brunch at a buffet. It was so good! I felt like we were on vacation. I always love getting out of the house. It was a fun weekend and I can't wait for more family to come visit in two weeks!

Ava loves her bath, she could play there all day! She is so big, she can turn all the way around in it and now she thinks she has to stand up too! So cute! Here are some pics and a video!

So called Ice Cream Festival

On Saturday we went with our friends to an All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival. Which we were so excited about, thinking we were going to get some good ice cream in all sorts of flavors. So we pay the 6 dollars EACH to get in and off we go to get our ice cream. We get to the big tent outside and it's Albertson's vanilla ice cream with carmel or chocolate on it. What the!! That sucks but we all thought it was funny-sort of!:) But it was great to just hang out and get out of the house. Especially for me and Ava because we are in the house all day! I really miss hanging out at my mom's house with her and my sister while Eric was at work! There was also a little train we took a ride on with the kids- I think they liked it!

Later that night we went to Joe and Karriss'a and made pizza, it was alot of fun! Then we played a new game, Settlers(I think that's what it's called) it a pretty fun game! Ava and McKinley are so cute together. Ava wants to stand up all the time so she can be like McKinley. Thank goodness for friends or I would go crazy, I really look forward to the weekends!

Wow I can't believe she is SEVEN months today! That's crazy! She is getting so smart. She babbles alot now. She is also doing better on her tummy but she's still kind of a lazy bones! :) Her poor neck is still tight but we are working on that, she hates when we have to stretch it. I feel so bad! She also loves to eat off our plate, she wants pretty much anything that we are eating! I eat my grasshopper cookies alot so I give her a taste sometimes, she absolutely loves them and is so sad when I take it! She also loves to bang on the laptop, I have to wait til she takes a nap before I get on or she is all over it! She is such a cutie though! Well that's whats new with Aver baber! Yeah she has alot of nicknames! I'm sure she misses all her nieces and nephews making up those nicknames too! Can't wait to visit everyone! We miss you!!!!

Olive Garden and Games

It's finally the weekend! On Friday night we(Dane, Camille, Joe, and Karrissa) all went out to dinner at Olive Garden! It was tons of fun, and of course the food was great! Ava is eating some solids now so she got to have green beans- yum! I can't believe how big she is, it was her first time sitting in the actual high chair. She thought she was so cool too! After dinner we went to Joe and Karrissa's and played Apples to Apples! It was so much fun, they are hilarious to play with!

On Saturday night we had everyone over to our house to play more games(Yeah we are really into playing games!) Jarom and his wife BreAnn came too. The guys watched football for awhile first and then we played Pitt and Cranium. They were both pretty fun. I think we are getting to know each other alot through games! It was pretty funny! So that was pretty much our weekend! Eric and I are still finding our way around Vegas. We had to find Eric a place to get his hair cut and I still need to find a pediatrician for Ava. We are doing pretty good though. I'm really good at getting to Wal-Mart, Camille's house, Karrissa's house and Cold Stone! But that's really all I need! :)

We don't have lights in our room or Ava's room but other than that it's been great. Daddy Daughter Time

Today was Eric's first actual day of classes. He already has lots of reading to do, but he took a break to play with Ava. She hates being on her tummy so we are trying to work on that so she can learn to crawl. Although I do love this stage where she can just sit and play with toys and not go anywhere. She is so much fun right now. She loves books, especially the hymm book at church. She doesn't even try to tear the pages, she is so gentle. Anyway here are some cute pics of Ava and her daddy!

New Friends -YEAH!

The Dental School had a BBQ up in Mt Charleston for all the dental students and their families. It was so beautiful. It felt so good, it was nice and cool. Some students went on a hike but Eric hurt his toe and we thought it might be hard with Ava so we didn't do that. The food was great and we were able to meet alot of other students. That's where we met Camille and Dane, Karrissa and Joe and their daughter McKinley, and Allyssa and Brian. It's been fun hanging out with them!

Friday night we got together at Camille and Dane's house with Karrissa and Joe. She got a ice cream maker for her wedding that she has never used so we gave it a try. It was so much fun getting to know them. McKinley just started walking and Ava loves to watch her. McKinley is such a cutie, and she knows some sign language too. I love it, I can't wait to teach Ava! Before we left the boys made plans to watch the BYU football game the next day.

On Saturday we had everyone over at our house to watch the game. We ordered pizza and just hung out. I don't think any of the girls actually watched the game but it was fun anyway. It's so funny to watch the kids play together. I didn't put my extensions in that day so we put them on the kids, it looked pretty funny. It's so nice to have some friends down here, I'm glad we met them because I really miss my family! See you guys in October!!

Eric's First Day of Dental School

Eric started his first week of school. It was actually just orientation so he said it was pretty boring. He had to dress up for it, doesn't he look great though! I can't believe it's started already. He even has these cute little scrubs. I have to say he looks pretty good in them! Good Luck Eric!

Labor Day and stiches

On Labor day we wanted to do something fun before Eric started school so we thought we would see the bodies exhibit at the Tropicana. We went to In & Out burger first (sooo good) and we were on our way. We got inside and the escalator was broken so we thought we would just walk up. Big mistake! Eric was wearing flip flops and just carrying Ava in her stroller when his foot slipped out and he slid down the steps- OUCH! He was bleeding pretty bad-gross. Good thing he just got his shots! I caught Ava so she was ok, it scared her though. So that was the end of that idea. We drove to the nearest hospital (not a good part of town by the way) and he got 25 stitches in his toe! Poor guy! Babies weren't allowed so me and Ava had to just hang out for 2 hours. Wow it was so boring. So that was pretty much the end of that day! It makes for a good story though I guess. I hope the pictures don't gross anyone out too much. The scrape on his leg is the jagged edge of the steps!

Finally a blog

Well here it is, we have our blog up and going! Now you can have something else to look at at work Robyn! I'm not a very good writer so I hope everyone can follow what I'm talking about.

We have been here for 2 weeks, even though it feels like 2 years. It was a little rough getting Ava used to the time change. She was waking up 6am in Utah so she was getting up at 5 here-that sucks! She is doing better now though. I can't believe how much I miss everyone. I already booked my trip home Oct. 27- Nov. 3. I can't wait!! It hasn't been too bad because Eric has been home, we are going to miss him when he starts going to actual classes. Well I'm going to get caught up with everything so here it is!

We actually didn't take too long to unpack(thanks mom and dad) so that was nice. I don't know what we would have done with out them. Thanks again for everything, love ya! I will take pictures of our place tomorrow and post them. We went swimming in our pool for the first timea few days after we got here. It is so hot so it felt really good. We were the only ones there so that was even better. I still kinda felt like we were on vacation, it hasn't hit me yet that this is my new home. Ava likes the pool so we will probably be doing that alot. It's going to be a long 4 years!
