Ava's Spring Break

I was worried we weren't going to have anything to do during Ava's Spring Break but we played almost every day and the weather was so nice. I didn't take many pictures but but Monday and Tuesday we had picnics and two different parks. The kids had a blast especially since it was the first time at a play ground since the fall.
Then on Wednesday we played at the Children's Museum. Also a place we could stay forever. The kids even had a couple little play date with their friends. When I went to pick them up one time they were having so much fun playing outside with the hose! They were soaking wet but loving every minute. Made me so excited for summer. I can't believe how warm it is already. Then Thursday Stacie and I drove to Omaha Zoo with the kids. We decided to buy a pass since the kids love it so much and we can always find fun stuff to do in Omaha. I even think the Zoo is fun. The animals there are awesome and we get so close to some of them.
Then Friday we got to just chill at home together. It was pretty nice not having a schedule and being able to do what ever we wanted. It was a great week spending more time with Ava too.

Someone is in need of a haircut :) I swear I combed it before we left!

The Gorilla's are amazing! But doesn't he look kinda sad. So awesome that we can see them so closely. The boys were staring forever.

My cute penguins!

We heard there was a baby Zebra so we just had to see it. Ava couldn't have been more excited!

Random February pictures

Lately I have been a having a love hate relationship with my camera. Mostly hate though. I'm counting down the months til I can get a new one. It's hard to use a crop sensor with a 50mm lens indoors and our house is really lacking natural light. Until then I have been using Eric's phone for quick pictures.

These are so old. From Christmas break. Ava and I couldn't get enough of the new baby at the Wilbur house.

At a recent trip to Chipotle for family night.

Dresden is such a goofball!

Daddy helped them build an awesome fort.

Lily and Ava. This is from even before Christmas at a trip to the Omaha Zoo with our friends.

Ava the photographer.

Dresden is such a champ when he gets his hair cut. He holds still and is happy to do it.

Eric took this picture of the kids at the mall. They are so silly!

I made this growth chart to measure the kids. We measured them a few months after we moved here because they were so excited to be measured but the plan is to measure them around their birthdays. We were a few weeks late but it was fun for them to compare.

My favorite picture! Dresden wanted to wear his towel just like daddy's!

Dresden's 3rd Birthday

My handsome boy is 3 already! I can't believe how lucky I am to have such a sweet, caring, snuggly little boy. And to think I didn't want any boys! That just seems crazy now, I wouldn't trade him for anything.
The morning of his birthday he woke up to the same thing Ava did, a room full of balloons! It sure made him feel special! I am lame and forgot to grab pictures of it but he and Ava loved them. Eric had a presentation the next morning so we pushed his little party to the next day. But that night we opened presents and took him out for his favorite...pancakes! This kid loves his pancakes! He was so spoiled and really enjoyed opening his presents. My mom got him a cute little golf and baseball set and his Grandma Wilbur sent him some awesome cars, which he plays with everyday! Our present to him was a new big boy bike! It was about time he learned to pedal. He has been riding Ava's old 4-wheeler for a long time. He absolutely loved and and could not wait to ride it. Lucky for us we have a good size basement the kids have been using in the winter to ride bikes. It took him a minute to get it but he caught on so quickly. He and Ava go in circles all day down there.

He is such a boy and doesn't give me a big cheesy smile. This is his smile
lately.

The next day we had a few friends over for cake and ice cream. Dresden was so excited for his party! He loves lots of things right now but we went with the super hero thing again. He likes and Captain America and I love the way he says it so that's the cake we went with. He was so cute and made sure everyone knew it was a Captain America shield cake!

He was a big helper in the kitchen while I was making the cake! :)

He picked this shirt out all by himself!

When the kids arrived we put Captain America masks on them! I had a couple Hulk ones just as extra and as soon as Dresden saw it he wanted Hulk instead! He literally didn't take it off all night long!

The boys

I thought the girls should have something different so they are Wonder Woman instead.

Even Mark and Stacie wanted to get in on the action! Stacie really did look like Wonder Woman too!

Eating his cake... with the mask. So funny!

I love how he blows on things. It took him a minute but he got them!

Thanks to everyone for the awesome presents! He LOVES all of them! We are so glad the Nehrings, Roberts, and Terry's could help us celebrate.

Goodbye hugs for his good friend Talmage.
