Family pictures 09

I did a little photo swap with an awesome photographer in my ward. She took our family pictures and I took hers. We each took pictures of our own kids. It was a little chilly and Ava was having a hard time holding still but she managed to smile for a few! Dresden was great, he loves being outside. It was alot of fun, and I love them!

Ward Christmas Party

Our ward Christmas party was so fun. Mostly for Ava but we had fun watching her get excited! It was a Polar Express theme and we all got to wear our P.J's. Which was perfect since Ava has watched the show almost every day since we recorded it. She LOVES it. As soon as we walked in the door and saw the "conductor" I knew Ava was going to be to happy. You could see it on her face, she was thrilled to get her "ticket"! We got to eat some delicious waffles and hot chocolate and then went to different stations. One was the Joy to the World video, another was to see Santa, and one where the kids played bingo. This year has been so much fun now that Ava is understanding it more. She was so excited to see Santa!! She was pretty shy at first but couldn't stop talking about it after. He even gave the kids a little bell! We saw him later and she said "I n sit on lap"! I told her she already sat on his lap and she could just wave. So she did, and was so cute about it! Dresden did really well he just kept staring at him!


I just love them in their cute matching jammies!!

Band-aids

Ava loves band aids! When she gets any sort of scratch she wants to put one on. The other day she randomly came and said monkey hurt his knee and needed a band-aid. I asked her why and she said he fell off the couch. :) So I gave her one. Then she asked for another and another. I finally decided to give her stickers and say they were princess band-aids! A few minutes later she showed us this!

He found it!

A few weeks ago we were playing upstairs and Dresden crawled in to the bathroom. The toilet paper happened to be on the floor and he was pretty curious about it. I had to run get my camera, I think it's so cute when they discover new things! It reminded me of when Ava found it and thought it was pretty cool too.


I had to flash back to Ava doing it. I do kinda think they look alike!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! We were in St George with my parents. We got them all to ourselves this year! It was my families off year but my parents still came down to see us. Ava was loving all the attention. She pulled grandma everywhere with her. We also got to see alot of my cousins. They all have girls around Ava's age so she had tons of fun playing with them. Thanksgiving dinner was great and we ate dessert at my uncle's place. We had fun doing the black Friday shopping and going to lunch with all the girls. It made me so excited to go home for Christmas!!



Dresden loved his first Thanksgiving. We had some jello and rolls!




Boys playing cards, Ava playing with the girls, and Dresden playing with James. They are only a couple weeks apart!




Ava loved wearing grandma' glasses around the house. I think she looks pretty cute in glasses!


She climbed in my parents bed with a water and my mom's scriptures and her glasses. Such a funny girl!!

She and Dresden played in the entertainment center all the time. And she also got a Barbie for going poop in the potty for 5 days! Yeah Ava! She loved it! We're still looking for a little more modest clothes for her little barbie! :)

Ava update

I wanted to do a little Ava update just for record purposes. She is improving SO much with her speech! Just the last few weeks and she is finishing her words and saying so many new words she never tried before! And my very favorite thing that I've been waiting for is her copying what I say! It's the cutest thing. I love talking to her and actually having conversations. I feel like I'm getting to know her better. I'm so proud of her. I know sometimes she gets frustrated when I want her to say a full sentence but she keeps trying. She is getting better at talking to her friends but we're working on full sentences right now. Although just writing them down doesn't do the sweet way she says them justice, here are a few new and favorite things she says right now...

She loves to yell "NO" at us so I told her she never tells mommy no, you always say yes mommy I will. So now instead of yelling no, she YELLS "yyees" and "uuhh-hhuu". The first time I heard her do this I had to laugh. Apparently I needed to be more clear about the yelling part! It's still pretty funny though!



Ava watched me cut some things out a while ago so we bought her some of her own scissors to practice with. She LOVES them! Just randomly she will say "I wanna cut cut"! I was working on finishing a few little crafts and the stuff was still on the table so she just climbed up and was in heaven with the scissors, buttons, hole punch and paper. It was so cute, she was working really hard and so into it. She could cut up paper for hours!

November pictures

I can't believe it's already December! I've been slacking on the blog lately! Here are some things we've been up to.

Eric came home and took the kids outside to play so I could clean up a bit. I just loved looking out and seeing them playing. They both are so excited when daddy comes home!

Ava is starting to really want to play with Dresden but she doesn't get that he is still a baby! She loves giving him squeezing him and then pulling him on top of her. He loves it but he's starting to get nervous when she gets too close! :) Haha
