Bodies Exhibit

Last weekend ( I know it's been a while since I posted anything) we went to the bodies exhibit with Dane and Camille. It was a little pricey but we get a discount for being residents. But then later we found out we would have got another discount for Eric and Dane being students! So that was annoying. But anyway let me just say the human body is AMAZING! They have actual bodies and bones of people. It's pretty crazy to see some of the things they have. They showed all the muscles and organs and everything. It said how they preserved everything but I forgot already! But I have to say my favorite part was the fetal room. I know that might sound bad but it was the most interesting. They have actual fetuses and babies that have passed away. There were babies from like 5 weeks to 16 weeks. CRAZY!! They even had some conjoined twins. I was so curious about what babies look like at different stages and it's way different than looking at pictures. Pregnancy is also an amazing thing! Anyway that's enough bodies talk, but it was fun to see and I'm glad we went. It was one of those things that you probably will only do once in your life! We went to dinner after at Chilies! It was a fun night out!

Anderson Dairy

The other day I took Ava to Anderson Dairy. It's this home town dairy that has been around for a long time! They do these tours for little kids and it's so cute. They took everyone on a tour of the place and the kids get to walk around and see where they make different things. It was decorated so cute too. Then we went into this room and watched a movie about the history of Anderson Dairy. And the best part is we got free ice cream! I went with some friends and their little kiddos! Ava loves being around kids. After we went back to Afton's house and decorated animal sugar cookies! It was so fun and so nice to get together with friends. The kids are so funny with each other. They never really play together they just kind of watch each other and laugh every once in awhile. Here are some pics of the day!

Ava walking around during the video. She is already a people watcher! :)

She loved decorating the cookies almost as much as she loved eating and squishing them in her fingers!

Goodbye Contacts!

I can not believe I finally get to say goodbye to contacts and glasses forever! Yup... I am going to have lasik surgery on January 31st! I have had glasses or contacts since I was 4 years old so it's about time! I hate taking my contacts out at night and I can't wait to wake up and be able to SEE! The Valley Eye here in Vegas is having a two for one deal. You get two eye's done for the price of one. I barely made it though. I had an eye exam the other day and they said my eyes are an 8 and they won't do surgery if your eyes are 10 or higher! So right now I am wearing my glasses until the surgery. I'm not too happy about that but it will be so worth it in less than two weeks! I am so excited but a little nervous. These are my eye's we're talking about! So wish me luck!

I'm so glad when daddy comes home

Eric is in his second semester of school right now and this time around he has to stay until 5pm every night except Thursday! I'm not sure why but some of the days it seems like forever til he gets home. Ava and I get pretty bored. It actually started to get cold outside so we couldn't take our usual walks around our little area. Sad I know!:) But when Eric is close we go outside and wait for him! Ava LOVES it. She gets so excited to see him! It's the cutest thing ever! And when we get inside she won't let go of him for like 5 minutes straight! These are some of the pictures I got of them.

This is usually how Ava is dressed during the day- we pretty much just hang out all day :) I put the hoodie and hat on so we could go outside and wait for Eric!

Bowling

Last Saurday night we went bowling with the Kinghorns and Winwards at the Santa Fe Station. It was so much fun and a nice change from our usual going out to eat or just hanging out. Ava had lots of fun playing with McKinley and doing a little bowling herself! We went back to the Winwards after for some Ice Cream and pounce (or rook). It was a really fun night!

Ava and McKinley

The other day Karrissa and I wanted to go to the library where they have story time for babies. When we got there the class was full so we decided to go to the park next door. I love that the weather is so good here. Ava LOVES being outside, she had so much fun. She doesn't really want to do anything besides walk around. so that's pretty much all she did! The girls are so funny together. A couple days later I watched McKinley while Karrissa had her Dr. appt for a couple hours. Ava just stares at McKinley alot but they have fun together. Here are some pictures of them playing.

I think she could have stayed here all day.

Ava being Ava

I decided to change by background a little early. I love Valentines Day! That whole week seems like a big party! Our anniversary is on the 12th, then Valentines on the 14th, and Ava's birthday on the 16th!
Anyway nothing super exciting is going on, I'm just posting some cute pics of Ava. I probably should just title the blog Ava's life in Vegas! Hopefully she will enjoy looking back at them one day. And our other kids can look back and ask ...how come you took more pictures of Ava than us!! :)

We are trying out the pony tail thing here! Our friends baby (Lily) had the cutest side pony tail when we saw them in Utah but I think Ava needs some more hair! I love that face!

Here is one on the top! I like this one, but it kinda makes her look older! People already ask if she is 13 or 14 months anyway. They always try and guess before they ask me and everyone is way off. Today at dinner someone asked if she was a year and a half! What!!??

Her new favorite thing...toilet paper! She carry's it everywhere and pulls it apart! I think we are just going to get her a big box of it for her birthday!

Another favorite of Ava's. If she hears a vacuum turn on she comes running.

she knows how to make a good mess with black beans, and they are hard to get off!

This is how she sleeps lately... with her little booty in the air. No matter how we put her down she always goes to this position and scoots in the corner! So cute

More Vacation pictures

We had such a good time in Utah. It was hard to come back to Vegas. Although the weather is much better here! It's so nice to be around family. We had something fun to do every night. Thanks Mom for taking care of us and making our stay so much fun! My sister and her husband are living at my parents for now so it was fun to hang out with them. But it won't be long til we see them again. We are going back the middle of February to have a Ava's first birthday there. I'm so excited! Well I just thought I would post some of the random pictures we took over the weeks!

Ava in the tub. We always have lots of pictures of her here because she is so funny! She loves getting in the tub. Especially at Grandma's house because everyone comes in to talk to her!

We put as many things as we could on her that she got for Christmas!
shaking her maracas

Ava just getting in from the snow
Look at those pink cheeks!

Poor baby- she fell and got a fat lip :( she thinks she can do anything. She was climbing the stairs all the time and trying to run everywhere. You can see two bruises on her head too. I don't think her arms are as strong as her legs because sometimes she couldn't hold herself up when she fell. Probably because she only crawled for like a month.
This is Eric putting up our new T.V. He was so excited we did it the day we got home! I love it to- it's super cute!

This is Ava walking in her squeaky shoes! They are so funny! She kept looking at her feet when we put them on. You have to turn on the volume! It was nice we always knew where she was in the house!

New Years Eve

New Years Eve was pretty fun this year. We spent the night with my sister and her husband and another couple. We just hung out at my parents so we could put Ava to sleep. We planned on ordering pizza but the wait was forever so we just had Chadders, which by the way is not as good as In and Out Burger! But it was still tons of fun. We played games all night and just hung out. We played Ticket to Ride, Pitt, and guitar hero! So much fun, I love games! As it got later we all wanted a midnight snack so my brother-in-law Jake made us some Samoan pancakes! Yum! They are so good not to mention addicting. We watched the ball drop on T.V played some more games and were off to bed! It was a great night!

I saw this on my cousins blog and I couldn't help but try it. This is for everyone who has ever said "she looks just like Eric" So here it is- PROOF that she looks like me too. She may not look exactly like me and it may just be the pictures but I will take it! :)

Sledding

It's been snowing alot here lately so my family decided to go sledding a few days after Christmas! We got my brothers 4-wheelers and sleds and went to a field behind my brothers old house. My nephew Teigun got a new 4-wheeler for Christmas too so he was helping pull all the kids. At one point he was pulling my niece and she got dumped, he didn't even realize it and just kept going. He got back to us and we all said where's Brynli, he turned around to find an empty sled and had this huge look of surprise! It was ok my brother had picked her up, it was pretty funny! We bought Ava a new snowsuit and she looked so stinking cute in it. She couldn't move but I'm pretty sure she was warm! It was so much fun to be outside and Ava had alot of fun with her cousins. They all wanted to ride with her. When we were finished we all went back to my parents house to have hot chocolate. I even let Ava have some!
