Dental School Spring Fling!

Friday night we went to the Dental school spring fling at a golf course in Henderson. They had food and prizes and blackjack tables! (don't worry it wasn't for or with real money). After dinner they set up the tables for a little casino night. We didn't stay for that because we had a babysitter! Can you believe it.. it was Ava's second babysitter that wasn't family! She did soooo good, which made me very happy! A couple girls from Karrissa's ward babysat Ava and McKinley. I think they do better when they are together. She even went to sleep for them. Which isn't that surprising because when she is tired she will go fast! We were worried that Ava would wake up McKinley if she didn't sleep but it ended up being the other way around! It was ok though because then she was awake when we got there! It was a fun night hanging out with friends!

Happy Easter!!!

So I'm really excited about my new Easter present that I got the other day... it's a new camera. Not just any camera either, it's a canon SLR! I love it. I'm having so much fun with it right now! I got Ava all dressed up in her Easter dress to take some pictures. (Thanks for the dress mom) And by the way I'm really glad I did because this morning before church she found a red jelly bean!! I was busy combing her hair and had no idea. When I got up to look at her I saw it.... she had slobbered red jellybean down the front of her new dress. Not just a little either. It was a huge pink circle! I was so sad and of course church was about to start in like 15 minutes! I really wanted her to wear it so we cleaned it up best we could and headed to church. Hopefully the rest will come out in the wash! Dang jelly beans! Anyway here are some of the pictures!

Easter Egg Hunts

We have been to a couple Easter activities this week, and they were all so much fun. Saturday we went to the Annual Summerlin Easter party with some friends. Ava was too young to actually do the hunts but they had a little program and a goody bag for the 0-3 age group. It was so nice to be outside and of course Ava loved every minute of it. There was a small stage that all the little kids were dancing on, so we put Ava on it to see if she would dance with them! We were not disappointed!(see video below) They also had a small petting zoo where they had little baby animals. There were blow up toys, face painting and balloon animals. It was a fun little party!

Then on Wednesday we got together with some of the other dental wives for a Easter egg hunt. We had lunch in the park and then hid the eggs for the kids to find. Ava was more interested in playing on the toys but she did like carrying her Easter basket around. She did pretty good for being the youngest one there again! It was so fun to watch her pick up the eggs. I had to point them out to her most the time but I think she had fun. I can't believe how big she is getting!

Tag... 8 things about my cute little Ava

I know I just posted but I was tagged by my cousin Natalie to write 8 things about AVA! I thought it would be a fun one! Like I already don't post enough pictures of her as it is!:)


1. She asks to go outside(she says "bub bye" and waves her hand) about 10 times a day. She loves to run around and climb up on the curb. She also loves to climb the neighbors stairs outside. We blow bubbles and draw with chalk. She mostly puts it all in her mouth but she occasionally will draw with it. It's a good thing we have such good weather here!

2. She gives "loves" to say yes. Whenever she signs something and I guess it right she gets a huge smile on her face and runs to give me squeezes. Especially when it's going outside. Which is probably alot of the reason we go out as often as we do. Who can resist squeezes?! Not me!

3. She is the most beautiful baby ever! I love her pretty blue eyes and her big smile. She does have some teeth it's just hard to see them sometimes.

4. She loves to dance! When ANY music comes on she starts moving her feet! She used to just swing her arms but now she just moves her feet. I just took this video today. She was watching some St. Patricks day dancers on Ellen and she was so excited! She just started doing that little kick thing lately! So funny!

5. She loves books! Especially books that have pictures of balloons, balls, or bubbles. She can say those words, sort of, and she loves to point to them and say the word over and over! She will flip through pages longer than any other activity.(She has a short attention span). She also loves to point to something and look at me, waiting for me to tell her what it is.

6.She has to feed herself lately. She takes the spoon from me and sticks it in whatever I'm feeding her. Then she looks and me...smiles...and sticks her fingers in it. After she is done eating off her fingers she waits til I look a way for one second and dumps it on her tray. This has not happened just once either! Sometimes it's the only way she will eat so I just let her make a mess and stick her directly in the tub when she is done! She sure is a cute messy baby!
7. She has been doing the funniest fake laugh lately! It's seriously so cute. And then when we or someone laughs at it it just makes her keep going! Notice at the end she has given herself the hiccups!

8. She Loves her babies! She is so sweet with them, always giving them "loves" and "kisses". I love watching her carry them around and push them in the stroller! She loves the one she got for her birthday because it's eyes open and close! She just sits and pokes them!

Easter cupcakes!

On Friday we had a little play group over at our house to decorate Easter cupcakes! It was so much fun. The kids played together...the moms got to talk..and the cupcakes were everywhere! I think Ava actually made the biggest mess! She ate a whole cupcake before we even started decorating! She is the youngest one but she still has fun playing with the kids. I think she thinks SHE is two!!

Coolest Park Ever

Yesterday we went to a really fun park! We were just out running errands because Eric got out of school early and were close to it so we decided to check it out. I drove past in once and thought it looked really fun and it totally is! It was such a nice day too, 80 degrees! I know that soon it is going to be ridiculously hot but right now I'm really enjoying it! There were ducks and birds in this huge pond and even some turtles. Ava was so excited to be that close to them. She didn't really know what to do, she was just squealing with excitement. I wish we would have had bread, it would have been interesting to see if she would get close enough to feed them. The park also has a big dinosaur sand box. SO much fun! I think all my cute little nephews would love that part! Ava was so sad when we started walking away, and by sad I mean really mad! I was carrying her out and she pushed me away to get down and ran back to the gate. Need less to say we ended up going back in for a little longer but I am sure we will be going back again soon! We have been to lots of parks and she has never done that before. It's not super close to our house but it's so fun that it's worth the drive!
