FiRsT pAiNtEd ToEs

I can not believe that Ava is one and this is the first time I have painted her toes! She has the tiniest little toe nails so I figured I would just make a huge mess anyway. I thought the best time would be when she was asleep but I never remembered until she was already in her crib and she is the lightest sleeper ever. All I have to do is touch her back when she is sleeping and she will wake up for a minute and roll over. So the other day when I was clipping her finger nails and toe nails(which I feel like I do alot lately) I decided it was time! I put on Tiger and Pooh so she would hold still. I try not to abuse the favorite shows thing but it comes in handy sometimes, like when I'm doing her hair! She was still wiggly but better than she would be had that not been on. I of course used pink polish and was surprised at how little I acually used! But I think they are the cutest little painted toes ever! It makes me so excited for the dress up years! She really likes them too, she bends down and points to them when I ask where her pink toes are. I painted mine too so she also finds my toes and points to them as well.

Ava's latest trick

She has been doing this almost every time she stands up! She thinks she is pretty cool. She even puts her arms out sometimes! So funny!
Look at that cute little booty! :)

Making cookies

The other night I decided to let Ava help me make cookies. It's becoming hard to think of things to do throughout the day so I'm including her in all the fun things I can think of. She loves to get messy and help me so I thought this would be great! I love watching her do new things and her face is so intense. I don't think she actually believed I was letting her do this. She loved eating the dough more than the actual cookies! I didn't let her have too much because I wasn't sure if she was even suppose to have it. But she was just fine and we had a greattime!

Her favorite thing was sticking the spoon in the bowl

Having a taste

I was actually going to take a bite but she beat me to it!

She is so good at sharing and she really wanted me to have that cookie! :)

My new obsession

SO I keep seeing these cute scrapbook pages online and decided I should give it a try. It's been my new obsession the last few days! I tried to learn as much as I could on the web and I still probably have alot to learn. It's not as easy as I want it to be. You have to put each thing in one at a time and move them around. Shabby princess has alot of cute ideas too! I know there are some sites that you just stick your pictures in but I felt like that was cheating somehow. I wanted to actually put the pages together myself. I don't know what I'm going to do with them now but it was really fun to put them together! I took some pictures of Ava outside the other day so I just used them. I was pretty proud of myself for actually figuring out photoshop.

Swimming!

On Saturday the boys were studying pretty much all day long so us wife's decided to keep ourselves busy. In the morning Camille and I went to Kohl's to check out their sales. I got a new frying pan! Doesn't that sound exciting! I got a great deal and it's a really nice big one. Later we(Camille, Karrissa, and McKinley) decided to go swimming. It was so nice earlier in the day but by about 5 it was so cold, so we went to the indoor pool at the YMCA. Ava hasn't been swimming in a while because she grew out of her suit and the stores didn't have any cute ones. We got this one when we were in Utah, I love it! I think it's time to get her some sort of floaters so she can play better. She had so much fun. The water was really warm too.
After we were done the boys were STILL studying so we made them dinner at Camille's house so they would take a break. It was so nice to just hang out with friends!

White Coat Ceremony!

On Friday Eric had his white coat ceremony. It's where all the first year students get their white dental coats to welcome them into the dental profession. It was fun to watch them all get their coats, i'm sure they all felt pretty cool! It made me(and I'm sure Eric) excited for his graduation, which isn't for 3 more years! Congrats babe! We went to dinner after with Dane and Camille at the Cheesecake Factory in the forum shops at Caesars Palace! It was of course delicious!

Ava at one

So this post is mostly just for me AND to document the things Ava is doing at the sweet age of one! These are the things I want to remember. I hope to make this blog into a book in the near future so it can be my sort of scrapbook/journal!

Ava had her one year check up today and she did pretty good considering it was smack in the middle of her nap time! Poor thing was soooo tired. It's still so hard to watch her get her shots, I HATE it. Eric was in school so it was just me and Ava this time. She weighs 22lbs(60%) and is 30 inches tall(75%)! She is just getting too big too fast! I feel like she's my little buddy now. She understands so much and just jabbers all day long. She has changed so much in the last couple of months. She is SO independant too!She is a pro walker now and can side step, walk backwards(so funny-I'll have to get it on video), bend her knees when she dances, and run a little! She is even starting to get a little mad when she doesn't get what she wants! For the most part she is a really happy girl though! When we are out and people talk to her, one of the first things they comment about is that she is a happy baby(the other thing they notice are her beautiful blue eyes). I feel like now when I look at her and we're playing she just isn't a baby any more she's a big girl! :(

Ava enjoys: making a mess of anything I am trying to put away, carrying her babies everywhere, pushing her hippo, walking around outside for as long as I will let her, dancing to music(especially doodlebops or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), being chased by me or daddy, getting piggy-back rides, smacking the laptop whenever it's open, puzzles, eating things right out of the bag or box, flipping through books, playing in the shower, singing songs(or watching me sing songs), putting things on her head, and her new favorite thing is climbing on the couch and then sliding off head first or backwards so I can catch her.

She is really getting better at signing as well. She can sign: more, all done, please(so cute), thank- you, milk, and food.

And the words she says are: mama, mom, dada, dad, bye bye, baby, and ball. She loves the "b" words. I'm sure she thinks she saying alot more but thats all we can unserstand at this point.

Well thats what's going on with my baby Ava! I love her so much! She is a really good baby. I love her wet open-mouth kisses and her big fat squeezes! She has a sweet, fun personality and I look forward to waking up and playing with her every day! These are just some cute pictures!

She loves messing with the buttons on the VCR- And this is where she stands to watch mickey mouse and the doodlebops! I swear she can see but she walks up there every time!

She pulls everything over her head like this?

So happy outside! We love waiting outside for daddy to come home!

feeding herself- she is getting pretty good!

The day after her birthday the balloons were right at her height! She loved it!

I LOVE this video of her dancing! She is even better than this now(this was a couple weeks ago)

Apparently she thinks me saying "no" is hillarious! How cute is she?!
