Catching up

I can't believe January is almost over! And Eric is in his last semester of school! Well kinda. But it's still exciting. He has been doing great and right after we got home from Christmas break we got the news that he PASSED National Boards part II! Woo-hoo! We were both so happy. He studied so hard for it and I'm so proud of him! Next is clinical boards that he will take in March. He only has 3 months left. I'm so not ready to leave Vegas.

Ava started back up with pre school. Lately she says she doesn't want to go because she just wants to change her clothes! What!!? She is so funny, she LOVES her "comfy" clothes (and by comfy it means jammies or shorts and a t-shirt) so much she would rather not go to school just so she can wear them. It's become an annoying obsession of hers! When she comes home she always says she had fun though, and immediately runs upstairs to change her clothes! I feel like she is learning so much and becoming such a big girl.
This is a recent picture of her playing with her play dough. She made a cute rainbow! Note the swim suit and swim cover up she chose to wear!

Dresden is officially the mean kid! He has started hitting. So we decided to remove the Iron Man cartoons he was watching just in case he's learning anything from them! The gym day care has informed me almost every day this week that he has had another incident. Which means he hit or punched someone. Seriously he is so crazy right now! I hope it's just a boy phase. He can be nice though, just not very often. haha! He can just melt my heart though when he says new cute words, laughs when he's throwing a fit, and kisses me every time I close my eyes. He has a love hate relationship with Ava right now too. It's funny. But he loves her and wants to be just like her and do everything she does.

I can't believe I'm going to have a 4 year old and a 2 year old next month!

That is a little of what's been going on with everyone in our house! One of these days I need to do a day in the life for my kids. I always think it will be fun to look back on later and see what our daily routine looked like.

And speaking of looking back I also received my BLOG BOOK! Yea! I was so happy to get, I have probably looked through it like 50 times since we got it. Anytime I feel like not blogging I try to remember how fun it is to have a book.

And also when we got back we got to experience SNOW in Vegas. It has snowed before but we weren't here for it. The kids thought it was kinda cool but considering we had just come from Utah, they had pretty much seen enough! haha. I was still glad to have actually seen it though. It was completely gone a few hours later. And just last week we had 70 degree weather. Nice. Which is like the number two reason I don't want to leave Vegas!

Oh and the last exciting thing is that I upgraded my camera. I actually decided to just switch to Nikon! So I sold all my canon stuff and bought a Nikon D700! I have only had it for a day and I already love it. Anyone need pictures!? :)

Cookies with Grandma

Before we left grandma made cookies with the kids. They both loved helping roll the dough and cut out shapes. Ava loved anything she got to do with Grandma, including reading books to her at night and hanging out with her in the morning!

We had just a great time in Utah, even though it was freezing cold outside! Thanks mom for taking care of us and spoiling us. And thanks to Eric's parents, we had fun visiting with them.

New Years

We had a fun new years with my family this year! Russ got a new Xbox kinect and it was a blast to play! I loved it. We did the dance one and a ping pong game. So funny to watch too! We played the game Think too. I was literally crying at one point from laughing so hard. Playing that game will forever be remembered, and I also learned a few things I maybe with I hadn't. We all brought our favorite foods and had plenty of treats! And even our little monkeys stayed up til midnight! It was their first time ever and I kinda feel like a bad mom for it but oh well, they had fun with their cousins!

The kids liked the dancing too, especially Dresden!

us! Eric decided to grow what he kept referring to as his Christmas beard! I actually grew to love it too!

more vacation pictures

These are just some of the random pictures from our little trip!

DESPICABLE ME

We took Ava to see Despicable me. She(we) LOVED it so much we bought for our long drive home.

BOWLING FOR BUCKS

RANDOM

Dresden using Ava's tag reader as a phone. Also sporting his new buzz t-shirt. Cheesy I know but he loves it.

My mom got a shooting game for the wii. Ava was very intense while she was playing!

Dresden with Iron Man and Buzz. He seems to always have that angry boy face on when he is playing with them.

CANDY CANES

I forgot this picture, it was from before we left. Dresden can actually eat entire candy canes. We were really working on getting him to smile more. This wasn't exactly what I was going for! :) He does make the funniest faces though.

CARS AND TRACK

Dresden really loved his cars and track!

DECORATING OUR TREE

I came up to find everyone on their tummy's! I hate laying on my stomach so I thought I'd just take a picture instead of join them.

Jungle Jim's

For one of our twelve days of Christmas my mom gave everyone tickets to Jungle Jim's. It was alot of fun especially since even Dresden could ride most the rides. Ava was all over the place and didn't even care if anyone was with her. She LOVED it.

on the swings! It was like a mini indoor carnival!

I love Dresden's face!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning started pretty early and not on purpose. Poor Dresden wasn't feeling very well and woke up even before Ava! Ava was excited to see if Santa came though. I loved seeing her gasp when she saw all the presents. She was fun to open presents with. Dresden was not too happy so we decided to let him open his biggest present from Santa. It was a big Buzz Lightyear! He was just fine after that although he was pretty stingy with the smiles. We finished opening presents and let the kids play for a bit. Ava was thrilled with her new pink baby doll and doctor kit and Dresden could have just got the buzz and Iron Man and been completely happy!

Dresden was too into Iron Man so Ava decided to use his toy! She is our silly girl!

After that we had breakfast with my parents and my brother's family. Then we got ready and opened a few presents from my parents. Ava and Dresden were super spoiled and loved every bit of it. Ava especially loved her Tag Reading System, ice cream play-dough stuff, and cash register. Dresden was obsessed with his cars and track, books, and magnets. They both got so much stuff we aren't going to have to buy toys for a long time.

We then headed to Eric's parents house. We had fun visiting and doing a white elephant gift exchange. Ava is still playing with the whistle she got from Grandma Wilbur. Dresden needed a nap(and by Dresden I mean all of us!) so we headed home. Later that night we opened a few more presents and then played games. We really had a great Christmas!

Dresden LOVED the cars and tracks!

Ava couldn't wait to play with the play dough so we opened it Christmas night. It was actually really fun!

She also wanted to play with her Tag Reader before bed. She read books almost every day after Christmas! She really was just laying there grinning as she touched words and pictures! It was pretty cute.
